Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Vidoki iOS application (the “App”) handles information when you use it. Vidoki is a media player that plays content from sources you provide (such as an M3U URL, M3U file, or Xtream Codes credentials). We do not host, distribute, or bundle any media content.

Summary: Vidoki does not require an account, does not ask for your email, and does not upload your playlists, credentials, or viewing history to our servers. Everything stays on your device. The only network calls we make are to (a) the IPTV source you enter, (b) The Movie Database (TMDB) for optional artwork, and (c) TelemetryDeck for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics that cannot identify you.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Data stored only on your device

Playlist sources (M3U URL, Xtream server / username / password, or imported file contents) that you enter.
Your watch progress, favorites, and downloaded content.
App preferences (theme, accent color, language, adult-content toggle, autoplay setting).

This information is stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly back up your iPhone / iPad via iCloud or a local backup, in which case Apple handles it under Apple’s own terms.

1.2 Data sent to third parties when you use the App

Your IPTV source. When you play a channel or request an EPG, the App communicates directly with the server you configured. Vidoki does not proxy, cache, or route this traffic through our infrastructure. Whatever the source server receives is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
TMDB (The Movie Database). For movies and TV series we may request artwork and metadata from the TMDB public API using a category or title string. Requests contain no personally identifying information. themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.
TelemetryDeck. We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (e.g. “feature X was opened”). TelemetryDeck is GDPR-compliant: IP addresses are hashed before processing and are never stored. No device ID, advertising ID, email, or name is ever sent. telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
Apple. Subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple’s StoreKit. Purchase receipts are validated on-device against Apple’s signed JWS. We do not receive your Apple ID, name, or billing details.

1.3 What we do NOT collect

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or physical address.
We do not track you across apps or websites.
We do not use advertising SDKs and do not show ads.
We do not sell any data.
We have no account system and no login.

2. How we use information

On-device data (§1.1) is used purely to run the App on your behalf: loading your playlist, showing your watch progress, remembering your preferences, and letting you resume downloads.

Aggregated analytics (§1.2) help us understand which features are used and which crashes happen most often. They are never used to target or identify you.

3. Content you supply

You are responsible for ensuring that the IPTV sources you configure in the App are lawful in your jurisdiction and that you have the right to view their content. Vidoki does not verify, curate, or endorse any third-party source.

4. Children

Vidoki is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App includes an “Adult content” toggle that defaults to off; we do not track or associate this setting with any identity.

5. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not store your personal data on our servers, there is usually nothing for us to delete or export. You can delete everything by removing the App from your device.

6. Data retention

On-device data is kept until you delete the App or clear it from within the App. Aggregated TelemetryDeck data cannot be linked back to you.

7. Security

We use Apple’s on-device storage APIs with standard iOS sandboxing. Network requests to your source server use whichever transport (HTTP or HTTPS) the source requires; we recommend HTTPS sources.

8. International users

The App is available worldwide. Because data does not leave your device (other than the limited third-party requests described in §1.2), Vidoki does not itself transfer your data across jurisdictions.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, surface a notice inside the App.
